PARCELNOTICE / GUIDES
Prepare survey introductions and access letters
Start with the purpose of your letter: introduce the survey, request permission, or prepare a notice under an applicable North Carolina statute.
1. Choose the right starting point
Survey introduction explains the planned work without asserting an entry right. Voluntary site access request asks the owner to coordinate permission and arrangements. The NC survey entry template is a separate draft for qualifying surveying work.
2. Review owners and property references
Select parcels or import your CSV, then review the owner’s mailing address separately from the property location. Group identical owners and addresses only when you intend to discuss all of their selected parcels in one letter.
3. Describe the fieldwork
Enter the work type, anticipated dates, project contact, and any requested access arrangements. The NC survey template also asks for the responsible surveyor and NC PLS license number. Include specific gate, scheduling, or access instructions in your edited wording when relevant.
4. Check the entry basis and print
The survey draft references G.S. 14-159.15, which provides a limited survey-entry right and includes damage and railroad/critical-infrastructure limits. Review the statute for your situation. A permission request does not itself grant access.
Preview the merged letter, download the PDF, then prepare envelopes or labels from the same reviewed recipients. Check the complete PDF before printing.
