PARCELNOTICE / GUIDES
Create a Wake County owner-mailing list.
ParcelNotice lets you select Wake County properties from NC OneMap and turn them into a reviewed owner-mailing list. Start with a small project area; the pilot supports up to 250 selected parcels at a time.
1. Choose Wake County
Open the tool. In Select properties, choose North Carolina and Wake County. Search by property address, owner name, or PIN / parcel ID. Search within the selected county; use a specific street name or parcel ID to narrow the result.
2. Select the project properties
Add parcels from the search results or click them on the map. For a compact area, choose Draw selection area, click the boundary points, and finish the area. Review the resulting selection; an area selection can include parcels you did not intend to contact. You can also import an existing NC OneMap, Wake County, or custom CSV.
3. Review the owner’s mailing address
Choose Continue to recipient review. The mailing address is where the owner receives correspondence; it may differ from the selected property’s address and may be outside Wake County or North Carolina. Edit missing or outdated address lines and confirm the city, state, and ZIP. Do not replace the mailing city with the property’s county name.
Check the displayed record dates and resolve uncertain ownership or address information against the county’s current records before mailing. NC OneMap is a statewide aggregation and update dates vary.
4. Decide how to group recipients
If one owner has several selected parcels, “One recipient per identical owner and mailing address” can combine them in one letter. This only groups identical normalized owner and address entries; it does not determine whether different names refer to the same person. Review shared addresses and joint ownership yourself.
5. Export and keep the reviewed list
Choose Export selection CSV to save the selected parcel records and your recipient edits. This export keeps one row per selected parcel, even when you have chosen to group letter recipients. Keep PINs and ZIP codes as text when opening the file in a spreadsheet so leading zeros are preserved.
